Questions from the chair.....
Posted in ceramic, dryer, ionic, questions from the chair, tourmaline on 1:24 PM by Stephanie Cole
Being a stylist means I get to do a lot of listening. Sometimes clients like to talk about what's going on in their life (what the kids are doing, what the husband has been up to), others like to chit chat about the latest celebrity gossip and who is left on Survivor, while others like to relax and not say anything at all.
My favorite part is when clients ask questions. I take pride in being able to help my clients look their best.
So.......I've created a segment of my blog dedicated to questions I get from clients. Cleverly, I'm calling it "Questions from the Chair." I hope that you find it beneficial.
Here is a question I received last week:
With so many different kinds of hair dryers, which one do I buy?
Try to find one that is ionic, has tourmaline and is ceramic. I know that sounds like a lot but each component has a specific job. Ionic breaks up water molecules to dry hair quicker. A quicker dry time means less frizz. Tourmaline, a semiprecious gem, is added to ionic dryers. Tourmaline generates heat, boosting the dryers ionic power. Ceramic coils produce a high-heat drying effect with less heat damage. With all those components on your dryer, you can dry your hair in half the time while maintaining healthier and shinier locks.
For more suggestions of if you're interested in learning about specific brands, I will be happy to talk with you at your next appointment.

Posted in home, products, style on 2:35 PM by Stephanie Cole
Love your new style but not sure how to maintain the new look at home? Here are a few secrets from the trade.
1. Tools...tools....tools
It's all about having the right tools. Some of the basic tools include blow dryer with a diffuser (and the more heat the better), brushes in all different sizes and shapes, a hot curling iron, a hot flat iron and clips.
2. Patience in blow drying
To achieve that right out of the chair look, blow drying is critical. Start by sectioning your hair. The first section starts at the bottom of your ear around the nape of your neck. Section two starts at the top of your ears; section three is temple to temple. The last section is the crown. I will be happy how to section your hair at your next appointment.
3. PRODUCTS!!!
Choose products that are formulated for your hair type. Mousse is a good option for straight hair while creams work well with curly hair. I can help you find the right pomade, serums and hair spray for your unique style.
